Time really does go by fast, as you might have noticed. The older you get the faster it seems to fly by. How does that happen? I can't figure it out! It seems like it was just Christmas and now it's already April. Spring has sprung and the warmer weather is making me want to get out more.

I've found that my skin has changed over the years. When I was younger I didn't wear makeup all the time, especially when I had my three little ones (daughter and twin sons) to take care of. Yes, I was busy and makeup was the last thing on my mind. Like I said, time flies and now they are grown adults. Now I'm seeing fine lines, some wrinkles and dark spots that weren't there when I was younger. These days I put on my makeup first thing in the morning, unless I'm positively sure I won't be seeing any body that day.

I've never got around to try an electric makeup brush yet,,,until now! Michael Todd SonicBlend is not your ordinary electric makeup brush, but it's an "Antimicrobial Sonic Makeup Brush". Unlike others you may have heard of, it uses sonic technology that makes applying your makeup so much easier and with a #flawless finish.

Before Using:

Before you get started it is recommended to charge the brush handle (which is powered with a rechargeable battery) for 3 hours.To do this you plug the smaller part of the USB cable into the end of the brush handle and the large end into a USB receptacle port such as a computer. When the brush handle is fully charged the light on it will change from red to green.

Use Less Makeup:

You'll be happy to know that you'll save on makeup by using the #sonicBLEND from @MichaelToddBeauty. This amazing brush applies makeup up to 400 micro-movements per second and gives you an air-brushed look. It's not like those rotating brushes you may have tried or heard of. It also gives you better coverage than ordinary brushes and doesn't leave streaks or lines.

Antimicrobial Brush Head:

The SonicBlend Brush Head is treated with antimicrobial protection for bacterial contamination. It won't wear out for the life of the brush head, which is about a year for continuous use. To clean the brush you can use shampoo, dish detergent or a mild soap and thoroughly rinse it clean with warm water

What I love about this makeup brush is that there is no rubbing of the makeup into my skin. All I did was put a squirt of my liquid foundation in my hand and dabbed the brush into it. Then turned it on with the button on the handle. There are 3 speeds so you can select whichever you feel comfortable with. You just press the on/off button till you get your desired speed.

Using the #sonicBLEND felt really good on my skin, actually like it was lightly massaging my face. You don't have to press hard into your skin to apply makeup but just use small strokes or circular motions. I usually use my fingers to apply my liquid foundation and get uneven spots, but it did not happen with this brush.

Of course I still have some wrinkles, but I thought my makeup looked smoother and a bit more natural. My only suggestion would be a smaller brush head for the under eye area, although the manual says you can use the outer edge of the brush for that area. Make sure not to get it near your eyes though.

All in all, I thought this was a cool product and was happy to be able to try it out! The Michael Todd SonicBlend Makeup Brush is portable and would be great to take with you anywhere you may go. It sells for $79 and the replacement brushes sell for $26 to $28.

L'Oreal Paris Lumi Cushion Foundation - Light Ivory

I'm a big fan of L'Oreal Paris products and recently had the pleasure to try out a trio of L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundations which you can read the review here. As I said in my previous review these are amazing new foundations which come with a pretty compact and a unique pad. The colors that I had received were a bit too dark for my skin-tone so the company generously sent me the perfect color for my skin.....Light Ivory.

Like I said in my previous review, this foundation is a cake-like makeup but goes on so smoothly like a liquid. I really love it because it's so light but has great coverage. To use just take the pad/applicator and lightly tap it on the cake. Then lightly stroke it on your facial skin with light motions. It blends smoothly and doesn't leave my skin with a chalky residue.

My skin looks almost like nothing is on it because it's so natural looking with the Light Ivory shade. L'Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation is so easy to take along with you and has a convenient mirror to check your face...but I doubt you'll have to with this awesome product.

L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation 

I can't go anywhere without putting on my "face" first. No really, I would scare people off the streets without applying some makeup.That includes foundation, which to me is the most important article of makeup that is in my beauty items. I've tried numerous foundations in the past but had not tried the new L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation so was excited when they sent me three shades of their new product to try out,

First of all, I thought the packaging of the product was so pretty - with a shiny compact cover that you lift up and even has a handy mirror so you can touch up when you're on the go. It comes with a  unique new type of applicator that I haven't seen before which is a pad; kind of like a spongy type material. It feels soft on my skin and makes it so nice to get just the right amount of coverage needed.

L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is available in 18 different shades so you are sure to find your perfect match for your skin tone color. This includes warm, cool and neutral tones.

The shades that I received to try out were as follows:

It is so awesome how this foundation works....kind of like a liquid foundation made into a cake. To use all I do is lightly tap the pad onto my face skin and blend it evenly using light strokes. Unlike some other foundations that I have used in the past, there is no caking and it doesn't leave my skin with a greasy residue. My skin feels like there is nothing on it because it is so weightless and light feeling.

The colors I received were a bit dark for my complexion since my skin tone is lighter than I realized, although I love how this product works, feels and stays on your skin. L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is a product that I would recommend.

My Thoughts:

I'm one that wears makeup daily because I want to look my best. I also want to be ready to go away, like to the store or wherever it may be, without taking extra time. 

My face tends to get a bit oily in some places, especially when the weather is warmer. I've used a regular tissue to dab the shine but it takes the makeup right off. Then you have to re-apply your makeup and it's a pain to do.

 The Day by Day Facial Blotting Papers are really so much better than a regular tissue. These blotting sheets come in a package with 100 sheets to last a long time. You actually get 2 packages of sheets for a total of 200 sheets per order. The sheets are thin but ultra strong to do the job. For the Mineral Blush I chose the shade of Maria Azucena which is on the top right in the picture above.  I love the color of this blush and it fits my skin wonderfully. It is so silky and contains Vitamin A, C and E. It is made with pure natural minerals from the earth and has optimum color pigments.

For the Mineral Shadow Duo I chose the Noche de Amor which has two beautiful shades which I'm going to be using a lot. One looks rather like a light lavender and the other is a light pinkish shade. These are so nice and really go on my eyes so nice and smooth. I wore it all day and they don't fade or smudge. This is on the top middle of the picture above.

I love wearing lipstick and also got to choose a Hydrating Stick Gloss and picked the Mia shade which is not too dark and not real light either. It is so creamy and has such a nice feel on my lips. It doesn't dry my lips out at all but leaves them really hydrated and moist. This lip gloss includes Vitamins A, C and E which nourishes your lips. It also includes minerals and anti-oxidants which protect your lips. 

To add to this selection I also received a Volumizing Black Masacara and an Intense Black Eye Liner Pencil. These really defined my eyes and added so much! The mascara really makes my lashes fuller and thicker, without clumping. This mascara is enriched with Vitamin B5. I like that it is also great for contact wearers. The Intense Black Eye Liner Pencil was easy to use and didn't pull or tug at my delicate skin around my eyes. It didn't smudge either and left a nice precise line.

The Studio Gear CC Cream comes in three shade which are shown above: Linen, Natural, and Wheat. For my review I chose the "Natural" color since it looked closest to my skin color.

As I have gotten older I hate to admit but I've noticed some fine lines on some areas of my face. I'm looking forward to hopefully minimize these since this CC Cream contains anti-aging and collagen building ingredients. I love that you can use it alone for the natural look or under your foundation for extra coverage.

This CC Cream is not oily and doesn't leave your face with a greasy feel at all. It has a nice light scent that I like too, just the right amount and not overpowering at all.

It comes out as a light greyish color and when you apply to your skin it changes to match your skin tone color.



 I loved how this CC Cream went on evenly and smooth. I first tried it on my wrist as shown below. You can see some little speckles in it which are the micro-encapsulated pigments that adapt to your skin color.

The finished look! It blended well and made my skin look more refreshed. The color matched my skin tone well and had a nice natural look. When I applied it to my face it looked even better! I am very pleased with the Studio Gear Hydrating CC Cream!

Sometimes I like to wear lipstick when I want to dress up. It makes a big difference when you have a little color on your lips and just makes me feel good! I've tried many lipsticks before but usually they make my lips dry and feel so yucky! I've got quite a few tubes of lipstick that I have purchased before, and they are just laying around in a drawer with my makeup. Also, I don't know what ingredients are in those lipsticks. It's kind of scary to think of putting something foreign on your lips and ingesting it. I want to take the best care of my body that I can and that means what I put on my body also.

Wearing Makeup At Home or Just When You Go Out

When my kids were young I was really busy with little ones (twin sons and a daughter which were two years apart).    I didn't have time to think about how I looked really.  When they got older I had more time for myself.  I realized I looked better wearing makeup after looking at pictures and just by looking in a mirror, ha, ha.  I don't wear a lot of makeup but a little foundation, cover stick (for under my eyes)  and blush every day.  It makes a big difference and nobody really knows I have makeup on.  It makes me feel better about myself when I look better too.  Without makeup I have a ruddy complexion I guess you would call it.  When I go out to a special occasion (which is rare) I will add eye shadow, mascara and a little lipstick.  

I'm curious if other women wear makeup every day or just for special occasions.  I know there are a lot of moms who are probably too busy like I was when the kids were little and don't even think about it.   Some women look good without makeup also.  What do you do?  Do you wear makeup daily, for special occasions, or none at all?
