Headphone Design Hand Free Personal Fan Wearable Cooler Fan - #review #personalfan #handfreefan

Portable USB Rechargeable LED Fan Headphone Design Hand Free Personal Fan Wearable Cooler Fan

It is summer and we get a lot of hot days where you need some cooling off when you aren't in an air conditioned room. I found a great way to cool off with the Headphone Design Hand Free Personal Fan.

This is a really neat product that you wear around your neck and don't need to hold onto anything when using it. It comes with a USB charger that you plug into the top of the headpiece and can be charged with your laptop or any USB device. You will not need any batteries which is a big plus also.
.

There are 3 speeds (low, medium and high) on this amazing fan which works by pressing a button on the top part of the fan. You just keep pressing till you get your desired air flow. To stop it you press down a bit longer and it quits automatically. So there is only one button you need for using this product.

There are two wind heads on this fan, one each side of it which keep you nice and cool. I also like that the red part of the neck fan is flexible. This way you can adjust the wind heads in whichever direction you want to keep you cool and comfortable.

This product would be awesome for campers, outdoor sports events, or any time you just want to cool off outdoors or even indoors if you get warm.

In addition this fan has a place where you can place some of your favorite aromatherapy scents. You just unscrew the part on the fan where is a little cover and place a drop or two on the white spot if you want a nice scent. I have shown the inside of the cover in the above picture which I have unscrewed to show where you place the aromatherapy scent.

The picture above shows where I just have the wind heads hanging and below is where I adjusted them so the wind blows towards my face.

I am quite happy with this new gadget to keep cool in these hot summer months. It is lightweight to wear on my neck and is so easy to use to keep my cool!

You can get one of these for yourself on Amazon.

Disclosure: I received free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

Heroes 1977 Blu-ray #Review

Synopsis: (Taken from Mill Creek Entertainment)

Find the one you love... is finding yourself. Henry Winkler and Sally Field play two off-center characters who find love when they least expect it in the moving comedy Heroes. Jack (Winkler) is a troubled yet high-spirited Vietnam vet who embarks on a cross-country odyssey to open a worm farm and prove his own self-worth. En route, he befriends Carol (Field), who is attempting to "sort things out" before she marries an old flame. Their laugh- and tear-filled adventures, including a high-speed run-in with a footloose army buddy (Harrison Ford), become the life-affirming story of two people who find themselves when they find each other.

My Thoughts:

I had never heard of the movie Heroes, which was made in 1977 until recently. It stars three of my favorite actors including Henry Winkler, Sally Field and Harrison Ford. It is different seeing Winkler in a drama/comedy film since I have always known him for being "The Fonz" in the 70's series Happy Days.

Winkler portrays Jack Dunne, who is a Vietnam veteran. He has an unusual idea to start a worm farm when he meets Sally Field, who portrays Carol Bell. They meet at a bus station on the way going to California.

Jack has escaped from a Veteran's hospital and seems to be suffering from PTSD from being in Vietnam. Carol was supposed to be getting married but is trying to think things over about it when they meet.

They have some adventures along the way. They meet up with Harrison Ford, who plays Ken Boyd. He is a former soldier and was in Jack's Army unit in Vietman. I enjoyed the camaraderie with them and the love story between Carol and Jack.

All in all, it is a pretty good movie which was new to me and quite unusual and entertaining.

Reusable Silicone Food Storage Bags #Review #ReusableStorageBags

Reusable Silicone Food Storage Bags

I know the majority of us use plastic baggies or storage bags from the grocery store and other stores. Just about everything has become disposable these days, from plastic containers, razors. face tissues, paper towels, paper and plastic disposable plates and so much more. If we all helped out we could make the environment a lot better for future generations (and this one)!

Disclosure: I receive free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

Recently I had the pleasure to review some neat Reusable Silicone Food Storage Bags. When I received them they came in a nice sturdy box which would be great for gift giving. The bags come in a set of six and are clear or transparent in color. This is great so you can see what food items you put in the bags. The set includes 2 large which hold 60 ounces and 4 middle size bags which hold 30 ounces.

There are sliders on the top of the bags which you can slide right off to put your food items in or when you wash them. You can tell they have a tight seal since they take a little hand strength to pull off when you first get them. After awhile it becomes easier to use them.

These neat silicone bags are also made of food grade silicone, so you know they are safe for your food items. Along with the bags you get 6 hanging hooks which would be great to hang them up to dry after washing them. There is a hole on the end of the top of each bag to insert the hook on them. The hooks have a thin strip on the back of the plastic to remove and then you can stick them on the wall or wherever you would like.

I had some apples and small peppers in the refrigerator so tried the bags for these items right away.

For the apples I used the larger bags and had some very large apples. If you have smaller apples you couple put more in the large bag size. I probably could have gotten another large apple in the bag.

I used one of the smaller size bags to put some little peppers in which my neighbor gave me recently since she had a nice garden. There was lots more room to put more peppers in if I would have had them.

I put a hook in the hole to show where you can hang the bag in the picture below, when they are empty and want to hang them up for drying.

To clean it is recommended to hand wash but you can use a dishwasher also. I don't have a dishwasher so I am used to hand washing.

Besides solid foods the Reusable Silicone Storage Bags can also be used for other items, such as liquids (soups, etc.) or you could even use them to store your pet's food. They would be great to take along with you on a car trip, for camping or wherever you go on the run!

All in all , I am pleased with these useful bags and would recommend them. They have no odor and can be used for lots of things.

You can find the Reusable Silicone Food Storage Bags on Amazon. if interested in a set for yourself or for a gift!

Remote Vehicle with Rotate 360 Electric Car Toy For Land Water Snow #Review #remotecar #Amphibiousremotevehicle

Amphibious Radio Control Remote Vehicle with Rotate 360 Electric Car Toy for Land -Water -Snow

Disclosure: I received free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

Here is a great toy which would be fun for all ages, which is the Amphibious Radio Control Remote Vehicle with Rotate Electric Car. The instructions on the box says it is for ages of 8 and older. This car is so neat and when I received it my adult son couldn't wait to try it out before I could even open it.

This is a unique toy that comes with a rechargeable battery pack which can be charged by a USB cable which is included You also get a little screwdriver which is used to open the part where you place the batteries in the remote and the car. In addition two AA batteries are needed for the controller which is not included but we had some on hand to try it out.

My son tried the car out in the house and outdoors which he had a lot of fun with. I like how it can flip upside down and turn around, which is so cool. It worked well outdoors also.

I like the bright neon green colors with the black which shows up so well. This isn't a real small car, but measures approximately 9 by 8 inches and seems like a good sturdy car. The car goes fast and the remote is easy to use.

It has a long frequency range which is nice also. My son even went to my mother's house who lives down the road. She was sitting outdoors and he drove the car through her grass and surprised her!

This car would be a great gift for boys, girls and even adults who want to play with a neat remote vehicle! The batteries last about 20 minutes before it needs recharging. In addition to running on land this car is made to go in the water and snow. We don't have any water nearby and it isn't winter yet but it would be great to see how it works with that.

All in all I would recommend this Amphibious Radio Control Remote Vehicle with Rotate Electric Car.

Forgotten Heroes - The Robert Hartsock Story DVD & Digital ~ #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

Forgotten Heroes - The Robert Hartsock Story

Disclosure: I received free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

Forgottten Heroes The Robert Hartsock Story is a DVD and Digital that I recently received from Mill Creek Entertainment to review. It is a documentary telling about the story of the only military dog handler that has ever received the Medal of Honor, which is the highest personal military decoration.

It tells of 10,000 lives that were saved in Vietnam, with the aid of 4,000 military dogs and their handlers. SSGT Robert Hartsock was the only handler ever to receive the Medal of Honor, which is the nations highest award.

The beginning starts with President Lyndon Johnson who struggled with the Vietnam War, which was a civil war, unlike WWI and WWII which were based on a country's domination over another.

In Vietnam scouts dogs were used to find the enemy by their smell, hearing and sight. The canine operations were widely unknown to avoid revealing our capabilities to the enemy. Scout dogs were able to find traps laid by the enemies, such as booby traps, a mine or trip wires.

When the Vietnamese found out about the scout dogs and their leaders, they put out a bounty on them.

The documentary went on to tell of Robert Hartsock, who grew up on a farm and had a father who had been in the military. He grew up learning about teamwork, working on the farm and playing in sports. He also had a willing attitude to help others.

Fellow friends that were drafted into the war told of how Hartsock was a great soldier, who could out shoot anyone, and how good he was at push ups. It told of the scout dog program, which Hartsock and others were in, and given their own German Shepherd to train with.

One of the most important things that the soldiers found out was to take excellent care of their dogs, and they took it seriously. They had vets that took care of the needs of the dogs. It told of when one of the dogs died, it was just like a fellow soldier had died.

Various friends and fellow soldiers told of how they got along and their camaraderie. They celebrated Christmas and had a common bond of friendship.

One of the former vets told of how a dog found a sniper in a palm tree. The dogs and their trainers walked along in front of their units. Another told of how when the dogs got over tired, they were just like anyone and let things slip.

It told of February 23, 1969 when Dau Tieng erupted. The base camp that Hartsock was in was under an unexpected and brutal assault by 2 North Vietnamese divisions. A fellow soldier told of how Hartsock and another solder were on top of the bunker with him when a rocket came in behind them and killed civilians. Nearly 20,000 enemies were the most ever seen in their area in over five years.

Not thinking about his own life, Bob Hartsock took it upon himself to throw himself upon a satchel charge and was greatly wounded. He then crawled to a ditch and helped to suppress enemy fire. Another solder (Sgt. Hughes) was then able to get away and was able to alert the tactical operations center what was going on. They were then able to get reinforcements.

SSGT Hartsock gave his life for his fellow soldiers, which was the ultimate gift. Besides his fellow soldiers grieving, Hartsock's scout dog Duke passed away shortly after his handler did. Although he was physically fit he didn't want to eat or drink, and ultimately died of self imposed starvation.

At the end of this documentary it showed actual footage of President Richard Nixon giving a posthumous Medal of Honor to Robert Hartsock's family in a White House ceremony.

This was a very informative documentary and I learned about a true American hero named Robert Hartsock!

APOCALYPSE 4 IN 1 COLLECTION DVD & Digital #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

APOCALYPSE 4 IN 1 COLLECTION DVD & Digital #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

Disclosure: I received free DVD & Digital from Mill Creek Entertainment and all opinions expressed here are my own.

Mill Creek Entertainment has done it again with a great DVD & Digital 2 Disc Set that includes the following movies:

Ghostquake
Arachnoquake
Miami Magma
Weather Wars

The back of the box says: "It's a STORM of EPIC PROPORTIONS when 4 APOCALYPTIC DISASTER MOVIES come together in ONE CATACLYSMIC COLLECTION".

When I received this set in the mail my son happened to see it and was interested in it himself. He likes movies and has a wide collection that he stores in a cabinet of mine. So he had first choice in viewing it.

Ghostquake is from 2012 and sounded like something I would like since Danny Trejo is a favorite actor of mine so I decided on watching that first. It stars Danny Trejo and MC Gainey. Trejo portrays Ortiz, the school janitor and Gainey portrays a deceased head master or principal.

First of all the music was eerily scary. It started out with a group of high school students in a class with the history teacher talking about UFO's and one of the male students is drawing a picture of one of the female students instead of listening.

After class the male student (Quentin) is by his locker and takes a pouch out of it with some coins in it. The girl he was drawing comes by and tells him happy birthday (a day early). She sees the pouch he is holding and grabs them asking what they are and if they are real gold. He replies that they are real gold and real old. She asks if he is going to sell them or something and he says he has something better in mind.

Just then the history teacher comes by the lockers and wants Quentin to help him in the boiler room for a minute, which sounds weird. They go together and pass the janitor who is mopping the floor around the steps. It is a very old school and the teacher says that rumor has it that Quentin's grandfather spent a long time down here too.

He tells Quentin that the original owner of the school building burned at the stake for witchcraft. He then says the force cult is an obsession of his.

The teacher wants to see what Quentin showed Miss Douglas (the female student). When the teacher sees the coins he is amazed and proceeds to tell Quentin that his grandfather had turned half of them into rings because he thought they held a power into the spirit world. He angrily grabs Quentin with both hands telling him "you know what I mean" and the coins drop all over the floor.

After Quentin picks them up the teacher apologizes and Quentin says he has to go, not knowing that the teacher had one of the coins under his shoe. He picks it up and looks carefully at it, when it starts glowing and burns his hands. He drops it and suddenly the walls are rumbling and cracking with bugs coming out of them. Then an old man is standing there which is a school headmaster that has been dead half a century.

In another segment there are a couple of girls out in the hall by the lockers when the coach and principal come along and want them to help with the senior prom. When they walk away one of the girls (Miss Douglas) opens her locker and sees a hand reaching out. She slams the locker and the other girl asks her what the matter is. Miss Douglas says she thinks she is studying too much.

It then shows a librarian in the high school who sees a figure flash by briefly behind aisles of books. She states that the library is closed when a weird looking demon girl appears in front her making growling-like sounds. The librarian falls and seems to be sinking in the floor, then is just lying there looking lifeless with the demon girl looking at her. Scary stuff!

Later on some of the students are unpacking things for decorating the gym for the prom. Quentin leaves the gymnasium to get some chairs and runs into the janitor who asks him where he's going in a mean voice.

In another part, there are some male students who want a bullied student to break into the school to change some of their bad grades on the computers. The poor guy doesn't want to do it but is threatened by them with a knife. There are four guys altogether who climb into some sort of shaft on the side of the school building. It takes them into the cafeteria.

Suddenly the walls start to shake like an earthquake. The last student who is climbing through the shaft gets stuck after the rumbling of the school. He was last because he was smoking a cigarette and said he'd be right there. The other guys who got through first thinks he chickened out and went back so they don't know he is stuck. Suddenly the old man who had been the headmaster there half a century ago appears in the shaft with him. He tells the student that smoking on schools ground is an automatic detention and then you hear yelling and it looks like the inside of the shaft is burning.

Quentin is then shown going into the basement of the school building and finding the teacher that wanted to see his coins lying there dead. In the next segment it goes to the janitor in a room chanting words while looking in a book with symbols in it. Suddenly a young girl appears out of nowhere and he is talking to her but she doesn't speak. He knows her and he asks what they did to her and she shakes her head back and forth. He tells her it is happening now and she nods her head yes.

So far I am enjoying this rather scary and intriguing movie. I am anxious to find out how it ends and am interested in viewing the other 3 movies after that.

You can find the APOCALYPSE 4 IN 1 COLLECTION DVD & Digital at Mill Creek Entertainment for $19.98 and it includes 2 discs with a run time of 5 hours and 49 minutes.

Queens of Scream Blu-ray & DVD #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

Disclosure: I received free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed are my own.

Recently I had the pleasure to receive and review Queens of Scream Blu-ray & DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment. As you might know from my previous posts, they have so many DVDs and Blu-rays to offer for any genre and age.

If you like scary or horror films, the Queens of Scream would be the ticket for you to watch. It includes the following films:

I Know What You Did Last Summer
Vacancy
When A Stranger Calls

I decided to watch When A Stranger Call, which I had never seen before. It was made in 1979 so I was in my 20's when it was made.

One of my favorite actors is in it - Charles Durning. It also stars Carol Kane and Colleen Dewhurst. The movie starts out with a babysitter coming to a home and the parents giving her instructions about the kids.

The babysitter starts doing her homework and gets a couple of phone calls, then the phone cuts off. She gets another phone call with a male voice that says "have you checked the children"?  She is getting frighted and calls the place where the parents of the children are at. She gets the reply that they have left 40 minutes ago.

Later she decides to call the police and let them know she's getting phone calls from a man every 15 minutes and they say they can't do anything about it. Afterwards she gets another call from the man and he says "why haven't you checked the children". She calls the police again and they tell her to keep him on the line and they could trace the call. She gets another call and starts talking to him and asking who he is and if he knows her. He then hangs up again.

The police call her and tell her they have traced the call and it is coming from inside the house! In another segment it shows a bunch of police in the house and say the children have been dead for several hours and are covered with blood. The parents are home and grieving and the police say the babysitter is alright.

The story fast forwards to 7 years later when the police (Charles Durning) goes to the house where it all happened. The father (I assume)  says the murderer was declared insane and is in a state mental hospital which is not secure. The policeman goes to the state mental hospital and asks the doctor questions about how he is and his habits. The  doctors lets him listen to a tape recording of them interviewing him.

Later the scene is in a bar and there is a man who I think is the murderer going up to a woman to light her cigarette. She lights her own and he offers to buy the next round. She says she has her own money. She moves down the bar and he comes and keeps talking to her. Then another guy comes and says "the lady wants to be alone". The strange guy just sits there and the other guy hit him and they fight until the strange guy is knocked on the floor.

In another segment the police go to the home again and tells the father that the murderer has escaped and he has the job of tracking him and he needs his full cooperation. The father says "okay, yes, anything you want".

Later the woman that was in the bar walks home to find the strange guy standing by her apartment door. He says he wants to apologize but she says she should be the one to apologize and didn't mean for that to happen (get beat up). He walks in her apartment and wants to have coffee with her but she says maybe tomorrow. She get a phone call and says that her boyfriend is coming over and that he has to go now.

In the morning it shows the murderer and another guy getting kicked out of a laundromat they must have spent the night in. They go their own ways and later the policeman (Durning) is walking the streets asking people if they have seen a guy (showing them a picture of the murderer who escaped).

So far I am very interested in this movie and want to see how it ends. It is rather scary and holds my attention very well. The other 2 movies sound just as scary as well!

If you have never visited Mill Creek Entertainment before I would definitely recommend checking it out for yourself!

No Tell MOTEL 8 Movie Collection - #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

Disclosure: I received free product from MillCreekEntertainment.com and all opinions are my own.

Mill Creek Entertainment has a great assortment of movies for anyone. Besides movies you can find television shows and they have any genre you are looking for. They offer drama, comedy, westerns, family, action, horror and much more! They are always coming out with new releases so you can be sure to find something you would like.

For my review I received a DVD Collection which includes 8 movies in a 2 disc set. They movies that are on this set include:

Vacancy
Identity
Hostel
Hostel Part II
Terror At Red Wolf Inn
It Happened At Nightmare Inn
The Devil's Nightmare
Legacy of Blood

I decided to watch Terror At Red Wolf Inn first, which was made in 1972 (when I was in high school). It starts off with a bunch of teenagers coming out of college and riding bikes A girl goes to her dorm and is opening her mail when she gets a surprising letter that she has won an all expense trip to the Red Wolf Inn. She calls the number on the letter and is pretty excited about winning and starts packing. She asks if it is some sort of a joke but believes it.

In another segment it shows an elderly woman getting a phone call that the girl is coming. Then she goes outdoors and tells an elderly man that "she's coming and is on the way". He says he will get ready. I think it is really weird how a girl would go away with complete strangers thinking she won a prize. But, things happen like this I guess. It's a movie too.

Later it shows the girl getting on a plane with an escorted pilot. She wants to call her mother but the pilot says they don't have time and that she can call her when they arrive. It then shows a young man fishing and the old lady says she is on her way. He picks her up at the plane and puts her suitcase in a car and they drive off. He is speeding and the police start going after him and she wants him to pull over but he doesn't want to. He eludes them in an alley or driveway.

When they arrive at the the hotel there are other girls there who must have "won a prize" also. They go in the huge mansion and Regina (the college girl) wants to phone her mother. Of course she goes to use the phone and it doesn't work.

The old lady says they must be famished and has a big meal for the girls at an elegant dining table. It shows them all stuffing themselves with a rib roast, which was rather comical the way they were chomping away at it. Then the old man tells the young guy who lives with them to get a bottle of brandy and they all have some. Soon they get tired and all go to bed. The college girl starts to dream and wakes up; then goes looking in the bathroom medicine cabinet, looking for something to settle her stomach I assume.

She goes downstairs and looks in the walk in freezer when the young man (their grandson) who lives with the old people comes out wielding a large knife. The old lady appears and apologizes for scaring her and the young guy does also. The next day Regina goes for a walk outdoors and comes upon a  little house or building. She goes inside and looks around.

In another segment it shows one of the girls on the beach enjoying the day. The old lady comes and offers her some lunch while she's lying on the beach. She eats the sandwich and says it is good. The weird guy that was earlier wielding a large knife is fishing on the beach also. The girl and guy start making a sand castle together and he kisses her. He then looks at his fishing pole in the water and catches a small shark. Then he starts hitting it till it's dead and yelling "shark" which was really weird.

Later it shows the whole group having a go away party for one of the girls (Edwina) and are drinking champagne and wearing party hats. Later when Edwina is sleeping the old woman, man and their grandson come in her room and put something on her mouth to put her out.

They carry in a basement and it shows them going in a door. The old man says "this is choice grade A" which was really eery. Then you can hear outside of the door some chopping. The next morning Regina comes in for breakfast and asks where Edwina is. The old lady tells her she went home early. Regina says that there is something going on here and tries to make a phone call but the old lady comes and hangs up the phone.

So far this is a very interesting film, if you like horror movies. It holds your attention and you want to keep watching it to see what happens next.

Lonesome Dove Mini-Series DVD & Digital #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

I am a a fan of westerns, especially the old ones that used to be on television while I was growing up. If you are too, I think you would like Lonesome Dove, which was a mini-series made in 1989. I had heard of it but have never seen the mini-series before so was excited to be able to get it for viewing from Mill Creek Entertainment.

Disclosure: I received free DVD & Digital from Mill Creek Entertainment for review purposes. All opinions expressed here are my own.

This series has some popular stars that are great in it, including Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones and Danny Glover - which are always good in any movie I have seen. Some other stars I like in this series are Robert Eurich, Angelica Houston, Diane Lane and Ricky Schroeder.

At the very beginning I knew this was going to be something that I was going to enjoy. The characters are excellent and I like the scenery of the old west in Texas. It starts out showing four of the characters living in a shack with a Mexican cook. Duvall (Gus) and Jones (Woodrow) are former Texas Rangers. They have a couple of pigs running around the homestead, always looking for something to eat. Gus tells them to go look for another snake to eat.

Suddenly Danny Glover (Joshua) and Robert Eurich (Jake) ride up on horses and haven't seen their friends for about 9 years. Jake accidentally shot a dentist in a saloon gunfight and is a fugitive. Joshua was a former scout for the Texas Rangers and Jake was a Texas Ranger. Jake and Gus sit down and have a talk about Jake's world travels and Gus asks if he had ever seen Clare, who must have been Gus' sweetheart in the past. Jake said he saw her in Nebraska and that she was married to a horse trader and had two daughters.

Woodrow has an idea to go to Montana and talks to Gus about it, which Gus answers that he thinks they're getting too old to fight Indians. Woodrow says he would like to go there for the herd before the bankers and lawyers get it.

In another segment it shows a sheriff coming home on his horse, and his son is outdoors milking a cow. The sheriff asks how his mother is doing and the boy says she's been feeling poorly that morning. They both go in to eat and the sheriff says he's been thinking of going after Jake Spoon for killing his brother. His wife tells her husband to take their son along because he has to grow up sometime. She has a plan to go see her son's real father when they are gone and she is pregnant.

As the story continues, Gus, Woodrow, Jake, Joshua and their group set out at daybreak to go to Mexico. They see a herd of wild horses before they come across a couple of Irish men who are singing and drinking around a campfire. Gus and Woodrow's group befriend the Irish men (who think they are in Galveston, Texas) and they join them. Afterwards, it shows the group while they round up more than 100 horses through Mexico and back to their homestead.

The whole group of men decide to travel to Montana, which is 2,500 miles from Lonesome Dove for some excitement and a new beginning. Gus stops by their house to take a livery sign he had nailed on a fence and to look at their place once more before they leave. He tells the two pigs that the place is all theirs now.

Gus stops at the saloon to say goodbye to the owner and have a drink with him. When he goes out to leave, the piano player from the saloon is in his buggy and says he is going with them. As Gus drives the buggy past their house, the two pigs start following them.

So far I am enjoying this mini-series quite a lot. It holds my attention I am interested in seeing what's ahead in the story.

Secret Stories of Hitler DVD 3 Disc Set & Digital #Review #MillCreekEntertainment

Secret Stories of Hitler DVD & Digital

Hitler is not a subject anyone wants to really think about, but he was a real person who was a dictator of evil.

Disclosure: I received free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

I received a 3 disc set of Secret Stories of Hitler DVD & Digital. I started watching the first disc which showed real life authentic film of Nazi Germany and personal film of Hitler's.

Although there is a small introduction, I started watching the first disc at the second part with people going about their daily routines on farms, trains and cities. It showed a newspaper man with newspaper headlines saying "Chancellor Hitler's Call to the German Nation!"  Besides black and white film, it even had color videos showing Hitler at his home with guards and other cronies.

There were flags with the "swastika" logo hanging in cities and showed enormous crowds of people cheering, and raising their hand to Hitler riding in a car through a city. Another scene showed fireworks going off with "Heil Hitler" in lighted fireworks.

In another segment it showed a huge group of Nazi soldiers chanting an oath to Hitler that they would pledge obedience unto death. It all seemed so normal, which is very scary to think of. They had a scene where it was Christmas and people were baking and Nazi's were giving gifts.

It was disturbing to think of how normal the people all seemed, but underneath were doing evil deeds. I thought of how people could be brainwashed by honoring Hitler. There were videos of large buildings he had made and showed Hitler's Chancellory in Berlin. I couldn't believe how huge it looked with large chandeliers and statues.

Another part showed Eva Braun, who was Hitler's companion, talking about how she liked Clark Gable. Also showed Dr. Goebbel's visiting with Hitler. I looked up and found out that he was a Nazi politician and Reich Minister of Propaganda.

The film showed men signing up to be soldiers for Hitler and waving to their families as they go off on trains, Also being told to respect their uniforms after they were in. It also showed them practicing marching and pledging an oath to give Hitler their unconditional obedience; and to be ready at any time to give their life for the oath.

One scene showed a large crowd of the younger children singing in German to Hitler. Also showed young boys practicing to be soldiers. There was more colored home movies showing Hitler with his dogs and Eva Braun in a swimsuit on a beach.

A parade from the Munich 1938 Arts Festival showed Hitler sitting watching it. Another part showed Hitler giving a speech about the "exciting period of peace since January 30, 1933" when the Nationalist Socialist party began.

It then showed Hitler giving a speech to dedicate a huge building which was dedicated to German Art. It showed Hitler and a crowd entering it and admiring the art/sculptures. I couldn't believe how huge some of these sculptures were against a human.

In another home movie, it showed Hitler and Eva Braun in the winter, with Eva ice skating and their dog running around in the snow. It also showed actual footage of the Hindenburg blimp which started on fire, crashed to the ground and burned, when it was nearly landed in 1937.

So far I am finding this disc set very informative, although disturbing to think of how Hitler rose to fame and all the evil he executed.

Disclosure: I received free DVD & Digital for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

If you have never heard of Mill Creek Entertainment before, they have movies and television shows of every genre you are looking for. Recently I had the pleasure to relive some of their films on LAUREL & HARDY Comedy Collection DVD & Digital, which was from Mill Creek Entertainment.

LAUREL & HARDY Comedy Collection DVD & Digital is an informative 2 disc set which shows silent films from their early days together and other fundraisers; plus a WWII propaganda film which is a rarity to view and very interesting. It also includes films before they were a team, which is odd to see, because I'm used to watching them together.

So far my favorite film is The Flying Deuces which starts off with Ollie having a girlfriend named Georgette who he is planning on proposing to, when she tells him there is someone else in her life. He is heartbroken and ties a rope around his waist with a large brick attached. He ties the rope around Stan also to jump in the Seine River and drown themselves. He explains to Stan that all he's done for him he should jump in with him. They talk about what they would like to be if they were reincarnated and Ollie says he would like to be a horse.

When the guy who is married to Georgette (who is a Foreign Legion officer) sees what they are about to do, Ollie tells him about his woman troubles. He doesn't know that the officer is married to Georgette. The officer tells him to join the Legion to forget his troubles and that's what they decide to do.

It is a funny scene when they are marching with the other soldiers and they get all mixed up in it. Then they ask the officer when lunch is. They end up getting punished and are doing laundry and ironing for the whole group of soldiers, and have rows of laundry hanging up on clothes lines. When the guards come and see them slacking off they tell them to get back to work. Then Ollie knocks over the iron and it starts a whole mound of laundry on fire.

Stan and Ollie decide that they are going to leave because Ollie says he is over Georgette and has forgotten her. They get their regular clothes on and start to leave with their suitcases. They go to the officer's quarters to leave him a note on his desk that they are leaving.

A hilarious part is when they are walking out of the army camp and there are some guys playing instruments. Ollie starts singing "Harvest Moon" while Stan dances. Anyways, they get caught for deserting and are sent to prison. They are found guilty and are to be shot at sunrise.

While in their jail cell, Stan takes the bed spring and starts to play it like a harp, which is pretty amusing. At the end they escape and start an airplane, driving it around with the guards running after them. They start flying in the air and the steering wheel comes off, then a parachute gets tangled around Ollies's face. The airplane keeps flying and they finally crash, showing Ollie as an angel going up in the sky. Later it shows Stan walking down a lane, and a voice like Ollie's calls out to him. It is Ollie, reincarnated as a horse. Ollie says, "here's another fine mess you've gotten me into to"

If you like Laurel and Hardy, this would be a great disc set for you. I have always been a fan of them and am really enjoying it.

My Thoughts:

Mill Creek Entertainment has a wide variety of DVDs and Blu-rays that you can't find any place else! They offer every genre for the whole family such as dramas, thrillers, comedies, television shows, children's and so much more!
Recently I had the opportunity to review And The Award Goes to...80 Years of the Academy Award, which is a DVD & Digital. It tells about movie stars too numerous to mention in this DVD Disc Set such as Elizabeth Taylor, Sidney Poitier, Al Pacino, Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman, Jimmy Stewart, and Judy Garland - to name just a few.

The first disc goes back to the very beginning of how it all started in 1927, when they first gave a few honors out  at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

The first movie to win an actual Oscar was It Happened One Night with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert in 1934. I also learned that in The Wizard of Oz  film that we all know and love from 1939  Judy Garland won an Oscar for a juvenile in movies.

Another great movie I really like that won Oscars was The Best Years of Our Lives from 1947. It was a story which told of some World War 11 veterans that returned home and became best friends, and how they adjusted to their new lives. It had 21 wins of which Fredric March won best actor for.

The film went on to the 50's where On The Waterfront that was one of the first films which was entirely filmed outside and won a total of 8 Oscars. Marlon Brando won best actor for it and Eva Marie Saint won best supporting actress.

Another awesome film that I've always enjoyed was the movie Ben-Hur, which won a total of 11 Oscars and cost $15 million dollars. It made actor Charlton Heston a well known star.

In the 60's Sidney Poitier was the first black person to win a major acting award  and he was the second black person to win an Oscar. He won it for a film called Lilies of the Field. Another film from the 60's  that I wasn't familiar with called Midnight Cowboy, won an Oscar for best picture of the year. It stars Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight

One highlight I remember watching on television years ago is when Marlon Brando turned downed his Oscar for The Godfather in 1973. He was protesting the treatment of American Indians and sent a woman named Sacheen Littlefeather on stage to state that he could not accept the award.

Also in 1977 Star Wars first came out and was nominated for ten Oscars. It made the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas a name we all would remember from then on.

So far, I am enjoying this disc set. from Mill Creek Entertainment. It tells a lot of information if you want to find out some history and learn who some of the actors that have won Oscars in the past were.

Disclosure: I receive free Blu-ray for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

MY THOUGHTS:

Nightwing is a thriller which starts out with some ancient Indian type music. The story takes place in Tuscon, Arizona.

An Indian deputy named Youngman Duran is investigating the death of a horse, which has some unusual wounds, unlike that of being killed by an animal. The animal smells of ammonia and has weird bite marks, right through the bone. More deputies and a vet check the animal out and they have never seen anything like it before.

The deputy has a girlfriend who is a white doctor and has delivered a baby who she just about lost. She's having a bad day and then tells him she's been accepted at a medical university. It shows how much they love each other.

Later a sheepherder hears a bunch of noise in the sky and the sheep start stampeding, which is pretty eery. Then an English man who is a scientist comes into the town and believes there are vampire bats invading the area, which he believes killed an old Indian priest or witch doctor man named Abner.

In another segment Deputy Duran's girlfriend goes camping to get away to relax with a group of friends. They are singing a song and sitting around a camp fire. The girlfriend goes in the van for a while and meanwhile the others each start hearing noises which they don't know what it is from.

Suddenly a swarm of bats start attacking them and biting them. They are screaming and trying to get into the van to get away from them. A few of them that get in the van and start driving away when they see a bat inside the van and then the van flips over. The girlfriend and another man are stranded in the desert and trying to survive with nothing to drink or eat. Then the man dies and she is left alone.

There are people in the village dying of bubonic plaque from the bats, which is what the scientist believes. Later, Deputy Duran finds his girlfriend in the desert, with the scientist's help.. She is alright but dehydrated. She tells him about the bats all being in the sky and how awful it was.

The scientist works with the Deputy and his girl friend to destroy the bat colony in a cave. The bats are sleeping but start waking up and to go after more victims. The ending is great when Deputy Duran starts a fire and destroys them. There is more in between but you'll have to watch to find out!

Shadow of the Hawk is another thriller which starts out with Indians carrying a coffin and then an old Native American Indian doing a ceremony or chant to a girl who is sick in bed.

In another segment Jan Michael Vincent, who portrays Mike or Little Hawk, is with a woman and by a pool. He goes into into the swimming pool and is being attacked by some sort of demon woman spirit. He gets out of the pool and is alright. Later when he is home sleeping he is awoken from the evil looking spirit.

Mike is the grandson of the Native American Indian who is named Old Man Hawk. Mike works in the city in the city in the business profession and is away from his roots. It then shows Old Man Hawk walking to the city when he collapses and is in the hospital. While in the hospital bed he sees evil spirits, as his grandson did.

He suddenly sits up and starts chanting Indian language, and it shows a hawk sitting in the room with him. Afterwards, he is shown walking out of the hospital and tells a lady named Maureen (who is a freelance reporter) outside that he needs to see his grandson. She hesitates but then says she would be glad to help him.

The grandfather finds Mike with the help of the woman. They come to his place where he is having a party and the grandfather calls him Little Hawk and wants his grandson to take him home. Mike takes his grandfather to a bus station and drops him off. While taking the woman home who helped his grandfather out, he changes his mind turns around and goes back to the bus station and gets him.

When they go to a restaurant, the grandfather tells his grandson and Maureen that there is evil is all around. Mike is going to take his grandfather home which is a long ride, and Maureen decides to go along for the ride.

While driving there is a car in front of them on the road which has evil in it and causes Mike to lose control of his car and go off the road nears some woods. When they get out of the car to walk, the same car tried to run them over. They find shelter in an old barn and Old Man Hawk starts telling a story about a woman that killed her husband and children over 200 years ago. She was put to death by Old Man Hawk's relatives. He says now her spirit is now after him.

They start walking and have to go across a rickety bridge with the wind whistling and the wind blowing. The manage to make it across and are no less for the better. They keep walking in the woods when Maureen falls down and says she can't go on. The old man tells his grandson to give her some of his strength to go on and she gets up and starts walking with them again.

They enter a village which is deserted and the old man tells Maureen to go into a house and stay there. He puts his necklace on her to keep her safe. Little Hawk and his grandfather encounter an Indian with a mask which attacks Little Hawk, but is pushed off a cliff by Little Hawk.

The grandfather and his grandson then go to a cave and light a fire. The grandfather pours some type of liquid on his hand and chants some words. He puts some paint on his forehead and his grandsons and does more chanting. He gives something he has in a pouch to Little Hawk and tells him to eat it. He then sees visions of Indian ancestors, according to his grandfather. The grandfather says he will die and be reborn a new man again, and has to spend one night under the moon.

In the meantime, Maureen is in the house alone and hears some wind blowing through a window. She shuts the window. There is eery music and something is whispering Maureen's name. She walks to the place where Little Wolf is and suddenly there are ghosts of ancient people and a wolf attacks him. They disappear and the house burns down.

Everything ends fine and the spirits are gone. The old man goes back to his people on a canoe and starts paddling across a river at the end of the movie.

Between the two films I rather enjoyed Nightwind better because of the bats. They are not movies I had heard of before, although they were alright movies. I probably would not go out of my way to watch them again.
