Have you heard of Cave Tools? They offer a nice variety of products that you can use for grilling. Some of them can also be used for the oven which is great for the winter months.
I recently received the Cave Tools Metal Meat Rakes which come in a sturdy gift box with padding to protect the product. As you can see in the picture, they are pretty large and have sharp prongs made of stainless steel to get the job done.
The meat rakes are recommended for just about any type of meat you like such as roasts, turkey, chicken and more. They have extra long black handles with a rubber like material to protect your hands. Plus they don't slip out of your hands like a regular knife or fork can.
I purchased a beef roast recently so thought it would be a good way to try out the meat rakes. After taking the roast out of the oven, it was time to try them out on the beef.
It's recommended by Cave Tools to use one of the rakes to hold the meat in place and use the other one to shred the meat. I read this after using the rakes but will definitely try it the next time.
My meat was kind of tough, although the rakes tore the meat apart pretty well. I just left the meat in the casserole dish I baked it in and used the rakes to shred or rip the meat apart.
The next time I plan on trying it on a turkey or chicken. The long sturdy handles will definitely make it easier to lift out of the pan or roaster I use.

I've never heard of a meat rake before! It sounds like a really quick and easy way to shred meat. That's funny you read the part about holding it down with one of the forks after - that sounds like something I would do!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot easier to use these than just using forks or anything else. I had never heard of them before now either. They're a great helper to shred meat!
