My Thoughts:
Suspect is a film I had not heard of before, even though this is the 30th Anniversary Edition of it. It stars three actors that I think everybody will know - Cher, Dennis Quaid, and Liam Neeson. Made in the 80's' it a drama and suspense filled film which is always a favorite genre of mine. It's about a homeless man named Carl (Liam Neeson) who is also a deaf mute and a Vietnam Vet. When a judge commits suicide, Carl is accused of the murder of the judge's secretary.
Liam Neeson is one of my favorites in films, so this was a big plus to me. Kathleen Riley (Cher) portrays the homeless guy's public defender, which was a role that at first I couldn't see her playing; but she actually did a good job and was very convincing. Eddie Sanger (Dennis Quaid) portrays a juror in the court case, who happens to also be a D.C. lobbyist. He and Riley become romantically involved while he is trying to help her find the real truth in this murder mystery.
This film held my interest and was better than I had imagined it would be, with lots of courtroom drama, suspense and a twist ending.
It comes as a Blu-ray and runs for 2 hours and 2 minutes; and is rated R. You can purchase it at Mill Creek Entertainment for $14.98.
