The Importance of Nutrition on your Child's health

Nutritional habits are among the most important things a child learns. They have long-term effects on the health and well-being of the child and are often very difficult to change.

Adequate nutrition is good for the prevention of problems such as obesity, bone diseases, diabetes, cardiovascular disease. It also helps the child grow into a mentally healthy individual. The type of food that parents give children have the greatest impact on developing eating habits.

From the time your child is a baby up until they turn 14 years of age, they need to develop healthy eating habits and activities. It is important to understand the food pyramid and give them a variety of foods from the same and different food groups.

Various nutrients are required for different roles in the organism.
Proteins are required for muscle growth and they can be found in foods such as milk, meat, fish, eggs, cheese.

Calcium is required for the formation of bones and teeth. It can be found in milk and dairy products and less in leafy vegetables.
If your child enjoys having a meal together with the rest of the family, consider that as an activity that will help the child learn the importance of being sociable.

In addition to this, there are various ways you can help your child lead a healthier lifestyle. The following infographic by [CBObaby.com]CBObaby.com illustrates a few ways to help your child live healthier.
