New Favorite Hobby....Bird Watching
We live in a house on a dead end street which is in town, but has a ten acre field around us that we own. When we built our house there was nothing on the land at all. No trees or any thing else. My husband decided to make an offer on the land and the seller accepted the price.
My daughter was in kindergarten when we moved into our new home, and now she is 31 years old. So it's been about 25 years that we've lived here.
My husband loves trees and planted lots of them. Now they are big trees and you would think they have been there forever.
Lately with everything closed I have been watching more wildlife out the window where I sit in my recliner. We have deer and turkeys that come around frequently.
For Mother's Day my son gave me a bird feeder for one of my gifts and he secretly hung it in the tree that is located right in eye distance of my sitting chair. So I have been watching birds and it is very calming to see them come and eat at the feeder.
Last night I was looking out the window and saw two cardinals which were together. They didn't hang around very long but I did get a picture of one of them sitting in the tree.
I've been watching the squirrels try to get into the bird feeder but they haven't had any luck...yet! I'm thinking of getting a hummingbird feeder now. They are amazing little birds and now I can't wait to get one!
Do you like bird watching? What kinds of birds have you seen this Spring so far?
