Beef Vegetable Soup and Magic Cookie Bars For Dessert

Beef Vegetable Soup and Magic Cookie Bars For Dessert

Today I thought I'd make a big batch of homemade vegetable soup and a dessert...Magic Cookie Bars. Some people call them seven layer bars but the recipe I have calls them Magic Cookie Bars so that's what I'm calling them.

The soup turned out good with lots of veggies in it. I use fresh carrots and potatoes, but used frozen corn, peas, and lima beans for the rest of the vegetables. Hmm, I just noticed that I forgot the green beans when I made the soup. Oh well, nobody missed them or said anything. I first start out with chopped onions, garlic and celery and cook the beef with these, till everything gets tender. Soup is something everyone does a little different but here is my recipe for a guideline. Click on the name below for the recipe.

The Magic Cookie Bars must have been alright since one of my sons has eaten about 3 or 4 of them already. I'm waiting till later tonight to indulge in one before I go to bed. I'm one to eat more later at night, which is a habit of mine. You want to know a secret? I even eat snacks in bed, ha, ha. Yea, it's what I do. Sometimes I even get crumbs in the bed. Anyways, here is the recipe for them if you have never heard of them before . They have a graham cracker crust, chocolate chips, chopped walnuts, coconut and sweetened condensed milk. It's an easy recipe!  Click on the link under the picture to get the recipe.
