My Thoughts:

IN THE BEGINNING
I learned about many bible stories from going to a Lutheran parochial school through the eighth grade, and from my Church and Sunday School. My daughter went with my brother and his family to the Holy Land 2 years ago and saw many places from the bible. They saw which is said to be the birthplace of Jesus and went on the Jordan River, among many other places of interest.

This is a good DVD set which starts with the creation and goes on telling of Abraham, who was called by God to leave his own country and journey to the Promised Land, a land of milk and honey. I think Martin Landau, who stars as Abraham was very good in this film and Jacqueline Bissett stars as his wife Sarah, who also was very good.

It includes many stories from the bible such as when God tested Abraham's faith by telling him to sacrifice his son Isaac. It also tells the story of Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers, who were jealous of him; and how he became a powerful leader in Egypt.

It also told of Moses and the burning bush, which was when God talked to Moses through a burning bush and chose him to lead his people Israel out of bondage.

There are many other stories told from the bible which were well told.

NOAH’S ARK

My Thoughts:

I like Jon Voight and was happy to see him play Noah in this film. Also a good actress included was Mary Steenburger, which portrayed Noah's wife.

Noah was chosen by God to be saved by the flood, which killed eveyone on earth, except Noah and his famly. He was to build an ark, which included 2 of every type of animal on earth. It was neat seeing animals of all types going on the ark, two by two.

It made you think about that time, when everyone in the world drowned, because of their sinful ways. All except Noah and his family, who were found to be righteous in the eyes of the Lord.

I liked when the dove brought a branch from an olive tree to Noah, which was a sign that the flood was over and there was new life.

Althought there were some inconsistences in this film, I thought it was an alright movie.
