My Thoughts:
If you have been around as long as me you've heard of Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis. Even if you're younger you may have seen them on old movies. They were a comedy team from quite a few years ago, even before I was born. But I remember laughing and enjoying a couple of their films while growing up.
After they went their own ways, Dean even had his own television variety show which was always great, with different stars on it. Dean was a wonderful singer, and always had comedy sketches and huge stars on the show.
Jerry went on to make his own movies which I only knew about from seeing The Nutty Professor in which he was quite funny! If you've never seen him in this, I would recommend it.
The thing I didn't know about was that Martin & Lewis starred in the Colgate Comedy Hour in the early 50's. This was before I was born so no wonder I never saw it. They had different guests on each show and this was in the day when there was good clean fun and humor on television.
Dean was the straight man and Jerry was more of the funny guy who was goofy and hilarious. They sure paired up well together and were very entertaining. These were the days when times were simple and there were no re-takes. You could hear the audience roar with laughter at their antics and just plain good old fashioned fun.
The commercials on the shows were so neat too! I love nostalgia and like seeing the advertising products such as Fab, Palmolive Rapid Shave, and Ajax Cleanser. Some of the huge guest stars in the shows included Burt Lancaster, Jack Benny, Frank Sinatra and more!
I am really enjoying this set which includes 6 DVDs and also 5 feature films. Boy, would it be nice to go back to those days when people laughed at real humor and there was not the violence and crime like these days.

They were funny! I also miss the days when humor was more innocent. That would be fun to see those old commercials and see what kinds of things women needed help with back then.
