In the hearts of millions of television viewers of the last 60 years, there is, and always be, only one Lucy. Lucille Ball is a TV icon like no other. Voted by TV Guide as The Greatest TV Star Of All Time, her legacy on the small screen is unparalleled; a show business powerhouse and television pioneer.
This unique Hollywood Profiles collection features highlights from Lucy’s incredible film and television career! Including 4 hilarious feature films, 10 outrageous television episodes, 2 insightful documentaries and a handful of vintage TV commercials, this is the ultimate tribute to America’s favorite redhead!

My Thoughts:

I think everybody has heard of Lucille Ball. If you haven't, I'm not sure what planet you live on....just joking! She was the queen of comedy and I remember watching I Love Lucy on television when I was a little girl. She was always so funny and had a couple other television shows after that first one. I'm pretty sure the other television shows were Here's Lucy and The Lucy Show, if I'm not mistaken.

The Lucille Ball Collection I received from Mill Creek Entertainment has over 10 hours of video with 2 discs. It includes television shows, commercials, movies and documentaries.

I enjoyed this DVD collection and watching some of the movies that I had never heard of before, including Her Husbands Affairs, Miss Grant Takes Richmond, The Fuller Brush Girl and The Magic Carpet. The old television commercials were so neat to see also. I'm a big fan of vintage movies and the like so this was a great set for me.

One of my favorite films was The Fuller Brush Girl which is before the Love Lucy show was aired. It also stars Eddie Albert from the Green Acres television show. Lucy play a woman named Sally Elliot who is planning on marrying Humphrey Briggs (Eddie Albert).

Lucy (Sally) is working at as a switchboard operator, who somehow blows it up and gets fired. She needs to find another job to help make some money to make a down payment on their home before she and Humphrey get married. She gets a job for the Fuller Brush Company selling cosmetics. Besides being a comedy, they get involved in a murder mystery which adds to the film.

All in all, this was a neat DVD set if you are a fan of Lucille Ball!. You can get it at Mill Creek Entertainment right now for $14.98.

  1. That would be fun to watch! I loved I Love Lucy! One of the girls in my AWANA group at church loved acting, and one year for the talent show, she did a scene from the I Love Lucy show.
