House on Haunted Hill – A wealthy man offers a hefty amount of money to a select five people that concur to being trapped in a haunted rental house overnight.
Last Man on Earth – Illness reforms any spark of human life into living dead, and the last man left on earth is forced to set out as a vampire hunter.
Shock – After a woman witnesses a man commit murder, she is locked into a private asylum to face her psychological issues – but the one who admitted her may be the one who indefinitely needs help.
The Bat – When psycho killer, “The Bat,” escapes, he runs loose in a mansion filled with people.
The Jackals – The heart does in fact, speak louder than the mind – convicted bank robber is after a gold miner, but quickly falls in love with his granddaughter, leading to a change of plans.
Halloween is soon approaching and I found a wonderful collection of movies to get you in the mood for trick or treats from Mill Creek Entertainment. Vincent Price is a favorite horror actor of mine from years ago. He stars in all of these films which include the following:
House on Haunted Hill
The Last Man On Earth
Shock
The Bat
The Jackals
These films are not rated, but aren't like the blood and gore type movies you see these days. I really love old movies so this was a treat for me to receive.
One of my favorites in the collection was House on Haunted Hill. It's from 1959 and is in black and white. I love how it is kind of spooky and dramatic but also sort of comical with the ghosts and skeletons they use.
Vincent Price portrays a rich man who invites 5 complete strangers to his mansion for a haunted house party. After they arrive to the house the door is bolted shut and they are all locked in.
If they spend (survive) the night they will receive $10,000. I think this is a classic film which you will like if you're a horror film lover. Vincent Price is so good in these types of movies. This would be a great film to watch on Halloween!

The next one is The Last Man On Earth. This is from 1964 and is also in black and white. Vincent Price stars as the last human alive after a disease or plague turns all the people into into walking zombies or vampires.
He keeps in his house with a ring of garlic on his door to repel the zombies and stays in at night till the light of day when they are sleeping. During the day he has to kill them with wooden stakes and burn them.
I thought this was a pretty good movie which held my attention. It kind of reminded me of the television show The Walking Dead which is pretty popular these days.
With Vincent Price you really can't go wrong since I'm a big fan of him. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of these movies for getting into the Halloween spirit!
