Nutrigold Vitamin C Gold ~ Review #vitaminc
Product Description from Amazon:
Food-Based, Organic Vitamin C Gold by NutriGold®Vitamin C is an antioxidant that is responsible for at least 300 metabolic functions in the body. Because the human body cannot produce Vitamin C, it must be obtained through the diet or by supplementation. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and excess Vitamin C is not stored in the body; for this reason, Vitamin C levels must be continually replenished via diet or supplementation.
Vitamin C - Food-based Vs. Synthetic
Most manufacturers of Vitamin C supplements take isolated Ascorbic Acid and marketed it as a natural Vitamin C product. However, the reality is that the Ascorbic Acid in the majority of Vitamin C supplements in the market is synthesized in labs from genetically modified and chemically produced corn. In China, which supplies 80% of the world's Vitamin C, genetically modified microbe species that oxidizes Sorbose into 2-ketogluconic acid (2-KGA) undergoes the ring-closing lactonization via dehydration producing Ascorbic Acid.
Food-based Vitamin C, on the other hand, is sourced from foods that are naturally rich in Vitamin C including berries (e.g. amla, camu camu, acerola), citrus fruits (e.g. orange), and green vegetables (e.g. asparagus, avocado), is 100% natural, and free of genetically modified organisms.

My thoughts:
It's winter and with that comes cold and flu season. I really don't like drinking orange juice because of all the added sugar and calories. Also I know I don't get much Vitamin C in my daily food intake. My preference is to take Vitamin C tablets but ran out recently so I was happy to try the Nutrigold Vitamin C Gold.
The Vitamin C Gold comes in a bottle that contain 90 capsules. These are great in that there is no synthetic ascorbic acid in them. They are made of 100% Vitamin C which comes from organic berries and fruits. I like that these are made in the USA and do not contain any GMO's or other additives such as preservatives or artificial ingredients. They are free of corn, egg, gluten, milk, peanuts, shellfish, and soy allergens.
By taking one of these Vitamin C capsules you get 240 mg or 400% of your daily requirement of Vitamin C. I didn't have any problem swallowing them with no stomach upset and so far no colds for me!
I also take Vitamin C during this time of year! I am a diabetic so I try to stay away from the extra sugar and calories from orange juice as well. I like that this is made her in the USA. I will have to look into getting me a bottle when my current bottle runs out.
ReplyDeleteThat's what impressed me also, even through I'm not diabetic. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
