Cave Tools Blade Tenderizer ~ #Review #CaveTools

Cave Tools Blade Tenderizer ~ #Review #CaveTools

I received free product for review purposes and all opinions expressed here are my own.

I recently received a product that was very new to me which is a meat tenderizer. If you have never tried one of these yourself this is a tool which is used to make your meats more tender. It can be used for steak, chicken or whatever type of meat you think is rather tough.

The product itself comes in a nice case with a plastic cover. The tips of the blades are razor sharp so be careful not to touch them. I just touched one of them to see how really sharp they were and was convinced because I poked my finger and had to use a bandage on it. So take my word for it, they are very sharp indeed. Make sure to keep the plastic white cover on it when not in use and out of reach of children.

It is recommended to use a cutting board to use the tool, which is what I did. You certainly don't want to cut your counter top up. Before using you take the plastic cover off and I washed it with hot sudsy water and rinsed well.

Since I don't eat meat I purchased a couple of beef chuck steaks for my husband. This is a tougher cut of meat so I thought it would be a good way to try the blade tenderizer out. The directions advise you to use the blades about 4 to 5 times. The steaks were medium thick so I did it a couple of times on the other side also. All you do is push down very easily on the handle to puncture your meat.

After using the tenderizer on both of the steaks, I pan fried them for dinner and served them to my husband. We just had yet another ice/snow store last night so grilling isn't going on around here yet. It's Spring but sure doesn't look like it around Michigan!

Like I said, I don't eat red meat so got his opinion about how they were. He thought the steak was slightly more tender, even though chuck steak is normally pretty tough. He was pretty happy about that. The next time I am going to try it on chicken since I eat that and check it out for myself.

Cleaning your blade tenderizer is easy also. All you do is put in the top rack of the dishwasher. First make sure to pull the two metal parts on each side of the plastic to release the white bottom piece and disassemble it for washing.

With grilling season coming up this would be a great gift for Father's Day, Mother's Day or any special gift giving!

You can purchase one on Amazon or get it on the Cave Tools website.

  1. I've never tried a meat tenderizer either. Thanks for the warning about not touching the edges! That's good you can wash it in the dishwasher. I think I'd be afraid to wash it by hand. That's good your husband thought the meat was more tender. It's always nice when something you try, actually works.

  2. It definitely is sharp alright so you don't want to poke yourself like I did. New kitchen tools are always fun to try and make cooking easier and tastier.
