What Is Your Hope and Prayer For 2017?

I can't believe we are saying goodbye to 2016 and in a couple of days will ring in the New Year! A month goes by like a flash. To me it seems like a week goes by as if were a couple of days. A month seems like only a couple of weeks. Before you know it we will be celebrating Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter. After this weekend we will be writing 2017 instead of 2016, which I was just getting used to!

First of all, my hope and prayers for the new year is that my family stays healthy and happy. Health is so taken for granted and it is something that I am very thankful for.

I know that everyone has different problems in their lives, which we can't tell by looking at someone. They may have a smile on their face, but you don't know what they are going through. They may have difficulties such as financial problems, depression, loneliness or other situations.

I'm thankful that we have a roof over our head, heat to warm us, enough food to eat, and all that we need to live. A lot of young adults (and even older) have it tough out there and jobs are still scarce, especially where we live in a rural area. There are lots of minimum wage jobs but who can make a living on that? It's not like when I was growing up where you got a job and had insurance.

I hope that our new president brings in new jobs for our country and helps with the health care insurance problems. Prices are sky-high from groceries to bills, and it's hard for a family to make a living.

I'm thankful that we have freedom in our country! I wouldn't want to live in any other country. You can go anywhere you want with no restrictions. We are so blessed to live in the United States. Our forefathers paved the way for us and my own grandparents came from Germany.

Finally, my hope and prayer us that our country stays safe, protected and out of harm's way.

What is your hope and prayer for 2017?

  1. What a nice post! Thanks for sharing it. Yes, the months do seem to go by so quickly! It is hard for a lot of people to make a living nowadays. I hope things get better too. I hope you have a nice New Year's with your family.
