MeasuPro Programmable Cooking Thermometer ~  Review  #MeasuPro

Product Description from company:

The MeasuPro Digital Cooking thermometer will imbue you with the utmost confidence to create the perfect dishes. It is designed to make food preparations simple. Peeking into the oven to check the doneness of the food you are cooking or baking is inconvenient and causes the oven temperature to lower drastically. With the MeasuPro Digital Cooking Thermometer there is no need for that. You can select from the list of pre-programmed meats and choose from the four levels of doneness according to your taste: rare, medium rare, medium, and well done. Stick the long 36 inch probe into the center of the food, slide the alert button on the side screen, and close the oven door. The thermometer probe's cable diameter is small enough to allow it to be closed in an oven door without creating a heat leak. It has and extra wide measuring range of 32°F to 392°F. Reading are accurate and precise so you can rely on it. Features a LCD display with large size digits. MeasuPro is intent on reducing worries... and flopped dinners!

I do quite a lot of cooking since we have a family of five so was happy to be able to try out the MeasuPro Programmable Cooking Thermometer. I've tried a couple of products from MeasuPro in the past and was really happy with them.

I know it's a good idea to use a thermometer to find out if you have the right temperature of your meat, it's just something I never really did before. You don't want to have undercooked meat, such as a turkey, and take the chance of getting e-coli. Also, sometimes you might overcook your meat and then it's all dried out and hard. That's happened to me a few times in the past and it's a waste of food.

The MeasuPro Programmable Cooking Thermometer is great in that it has 4 different options of taste settings - rare, medium rare, medium and well done. This is nice for people that have different preferences of how they want their meat. I like my meat well done and my daughter prefers medium rare so this thermometer is very useful.

It's really easy to use this thermometer. It requires a AAA battery which is included, so no hunting for a battery which is nice. All you do is set the thermometer to the temperature you want. Then you stick the probe into your meat and leave it in while it's cooking. The cord which is attached to the probe hangs out of your oven and you read the temperature on the screen. The back of the thermometer is magnetized so you can stick it to the stove while in use. You don't have to take the thermometer out of the meat because it's designed to leave in the food from start to finish. When your set temperature is met, the thermometer will beep to let you know the food is ready.

Of course I had to make a roast to try out the thermometer. I stuck the probe into the roast about 2 inches deep towards the middle of the meat. I set my desired temperature and waited for the alarm to go off. My roast turned out great and I didn't have to keep opening the oven door to check it. This is a convenient kitchen tool which is going to come in real handy from now on.

  2. Yes, I tend to do the same thing, Brenda. This is quite a neat kitchen gadget to have to prevent it.
