Product Description from Dr. Song:

Dr Song Medical is a medical cosmetic laboratory that originally manufactured natural based products for professionals, doctors, and medical facilities. Dr Song Medical products are made in the USA and is FDA compliant and a provider of professional products that focus on natural ingredients.

"Chemical peels were once reserved exclusively for the doctor's office, a place that can sometimes be scary -- and expensive. Today, chemical peels have evolved to include take-home peels and kits, allowing you to reap their benefits in the privacy of your own home, while relaxing in your favorite bathrobe.
You can use peels to improve wrinkles, some types of acne and remove warts on your skin." [WebMD]

My Thoughts:

I am not at all familiar with chemicals peels so this was a very new experience for me. I received a bottle of Dr. Song 20% Salicylic Acid Gel Peel and was very leery about trying it out since I've never tried a chemical peel before. First of all it says on the bottle to use at your own risk. It also says "for external use only" and if irritation becomes severe to discontinue use. Also to keep out of reach of children.

The bottle contains 1 fluid ounce of product and comes with a dropper to apply. The ingredients shown on the bottle are: Salicylic Acid, SD40 Alcohol, purified water, propylene glycol, and Diazolidnyl Urea.

I have found out from the company that Salicylic Acid can be used for acne, acne scars, large pores and blackheads, oily skin, psoriasis, razor bumps and warts. The bottle contains approximately 15 to 20 full facial peels and is made in the USA in an FDA compliant cosmetic laboratory.

Since it is recommended to first do a small skin patch test to minimize risk that is what I did. I applied a light coating with a botton ball on a small spot of my hand. I left it on for only about a minute. Then rinsed off well with cold water. Afterwards I could feel a warming sensation on my hand. Later I noticed that I had a smoother spot of skin where I did the spot test. Like I said, I was very leery about doing it so didn't do a very big spot. So far I don't have a problem and plan on trying it next on another spot of skin.

I would strongly recommend to follow all of the instructions you get from Dr. Song before using this product. Everyone has different results and you can seriously burn your skin since this is a chemical peel. If you have sensitive skin this may not be for you. Also it is recommended to use a sunscreen while using this product and for a week afterwards.
