Parade of Tropical Fools

Parade of Tropical Fools

Wednesday we went to the parade that isn't like your average hometown parade.  About a half hour from our town there is a tiny little town called Caseville.  It's a town where lots of people go for vacation to camp and go to the beach to get away from the city and relax.

You wouldn't believe this tiny town would get so many thousands of people come to celebrate Cheeseburger Fest in Caseville, Michigan.   The festival is in tribute to Jimmy Buffet and they sell hundreds of thousands of cheeseburgers every year for the festival.   I think people love it because you can dress up silly and some people go way out there.   This guy with a horse's head on him was walking by and I asked to take a picture, so my husband stood beside him.  His sign says "The End is Neigh" in case you can't read it.

The parade is out of the ordinary too, with a lot of the entries depicting something relating to cheeseburgers or the tropics.  Below is my niece, daughter, son and husband who were with me at the parade.  Notice the beads that they had gotten (they got more later).  My husband didn't get any though, ha, ha.

Most of the floats throw out something like beads, candy, and frisbees.  It is a lot of fun for people of all ages!

What a great festival to end the summer!
